“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement.” – Hellen Keller
Happy Thursday Reigners! I will be including an inspirational quote of the day in our intros going forward….above is our first! Meet Joy Ming, a recent Harvard grad. Read on to see what she co-founded and the interesting work she’s doing on rural India!
Tell us about yourself along with a fun fact!
I’m a recent Harvard grad and a current Fulbright Scholar studying innovations in childbirth in rural peripheral centers in India. I have a passion for social impact technology–I co-founded the Harvard College Developers for Development and have worked with hospitals in India, Ghana, the UAE and across the US. Fun fact: I love tea and I try to get some from all of the places I travel.
What # would define your life journey?
Someone who inspires you and knowledge they have imparted (if any):
Megan Smith in her big ideas that are a brilliant combination of tech and doing good and Jacqueline Novogratz in her story of dedicating herself to investing in people all over the world.
Song that makes you want to dance:
Shut Up and Dance With Me – Walk the Moon
I’m still trying to figure that one out! I think ultimately I want to work at the intersection of tech and social impact in a way that is very user-centered, data-driven, and innovative.
What knowledge would you impart to women in order for them to REIGN their lives?
Do something new every day and learn something new every day! It doesn’t have to be big, but stay spontaneous and curious 🙂
