“Love what you do and do what you love. Don’t listen to anyone else who tells you not to do it. You do what you want, what you love. Imagination should be the center of your life.” ― Ray Bradbury

Someone who inspires you and knowledge they have imparted:
I’m inspired by my father, also an educator, because at one time in his life he put aside his passion for teaching in order to support his family the way he felt it should be supported. He was later rewarded with a return to the classroom when it was again possible.
My father instilled in me my insane desire to want to help and give of myself to accomplish any goal.
Challenge you’ve faced and how you overcame it:
In 2011, I left a teaching position because I was being held back as a professional and my growth was being stunted and discouraged. I thought I was leaving the job where I had it all — teaching, coaching, respected by my peers.
Little did I know that by doing what I thought was right would lead me to two wonderful children, being afforded the time to spend with them while they are so young, pursue my MA degree and create the House of #EdTech Podcast along with numerous other creative endeavors.
In the end, I won.

Describe what it means for you to be a K-12 Influencer in STEM.
Being an influencer is something I take very seriously because people have come to know, like, and trust me. Those are three things that do not come easy and I have the utmost respect for the people I interact with and am able to offer help, guidance, and information to.
What knowledge would you impart to other K-12 Influencers in STEM?
Be honest and NEVER stop learning.
