“Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?” – Albus Dumbledore
Tell us about yourself along with a fun fact!
I am a Software Development Engineer at Amazon. I recently graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Master’s degree in Computer Science. I have previously worked for Audible, Pluribus Networks, VMware, and Avaya as a Software Engineer Intern.
I am passionate about Artificial Intelligence and working with data. My research focus at Penn was in the fields of Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Deep learning. I am also very enthusiastic about supporting women in technology and I’m currently working towards helping disadvantaged women in India in STEAM fields to find mentorship and support.
Fun fact! I enjoy reading and dancing and have been doing both since the age of 5. I was also one of the youngest students in my graduating class when I received my Bachelor’s as well as my Master’s degree in Computer Science.

Favorite website / app:
Google Maps, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Uber/Lyft. My day to day life would be a lot harder without these apps.
Someone who inspires you and knowledge they have imparted:
Definitely my family! They have been incredibly supportive of my goals and dreams. They taught me to work harder than ever and work towards being the best version of myself.
Challenge you’ve faced and how you overcame it:
As a dancer, I was encouraged to take risks, push myself beyond my limits, learn from my mistakes, get back on my feet and improvise. These experiences have helped shaped my life and taught me to accept challenges with confidence. Moving to a country halfway across the world and stepping out of my comfort zone was certainly a challenge. I grew up in Bangalore, India. When I graduated from high school at 16, my parents were terrified at the thought of sending me miles away for college so I had to wait until my college graduation and then moved to Philadelphia when I decided to get my Masters. This decision though has impacted my life in personal and career directions. It has helped me become stronger and more aware. I was presented with a lot of amazing opportunities at Penn, met fantastic people, fell in love with research, and learned to trust myself.
